Henry Yun, Ph.D.
Henry brings over 16 years of executive leadership to 174 Power Global, having held various management and technical positions within Intel Corporation, Hanwha Solar America and here at 174 Global. He has served on the board of directors at Crystal Solar, One Roof Energy, TenKSolar and Silent Power. Henry received his MBA from the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University and Ph.D. in Engineering from the University of Washington. Among his accomplishment include being granted 4 U.S. patents in the area of semiconductors and has authoring numerous technical publications.
General Counsel and Head of HR
Carolyn is Vice President and General Counsel of 174 Power Global as well as Hanwha Q CELLS USA Corp., the parent company of HQCEPC. She has over 16 years of experience in corporate, M&A, venture capital, and commercial litigation sectors and was previously in charge of legal affairs for Hanwha Solar America, Hanwha Q CELLS America. Carolyn and her team have successfully closed the project acquisition and development of over 1 GW of solar projects. Her lobbying efforts for the module sales and downstream development arms of Hanwha in the US has been invaluable. In 2015, she was also responsible for the Hanwha Q CELLS America module sales team’s successful negotiation of a 1.4 GW, $900 million module supply agreement, the largest single deal of its kind in the history of the US solar industry. Carolyn holds a B.A. and M.A. from Stanford University and a J.D. from Cornell Law School.
Senior Director of Project Development, Western U.S. Markets
In January 2015, Larry assumed the position of Head of Development for the Western USA and Canada here at 174 Global. Over the past 3 years, he has built a team of development specialists responsible for land lease, solar resource assessment, interconnection, power purchase, RFP bid response, environmental permitting, project acquisition due diligence, and project finance. Larry has developed a 1.2 GW project pipeline for Q CELLS in the United States and Canada. This includes the 300 MW Techren Solar I and Techren Solar II Solar Photovoltaic Projects located in Eldorado Valley, Boulder City, Clark County, Nevada. He has 26 years of experience in the energy development business; the last 14 of which has been exclusively in renewable energy project development (solar, wind, biomass, biodiesel) and prior to have he developed petroleum resources for Unocal (now Chevron) primarily in Thailand and Indonesia. Larry holds a Master of Science Degree (Geology) from the University of California, Davis, and an MBA from UCLA’s Anderson School of Management.
Senior Director, Development
Deborah brings nearly 25 years of experience in the global energy sector shaped by a broad spectrum of commercial and leadership positions spearheading the development of renewable and fossil fuel power projects. During her tenure at 174 Power Global, she has successfully closed the project acquisition and advanced the development of nearly 1 GW of solar projects. Deborah previously held lead development positions at Edison Mission, CMS Energy and Calpine. She was the original developer of the Sweetwater Project, successfully negotiating the PPA with PacificCorp. She has a Master’s degree in International Economics from the University of San Diego, a BA in both Political Science and French Linguistics from the University of California, Irvine and is fluent in five languages.
Senior Director of Project Finance
Craig leads the financial analysis of utility scale solar investments as well as the structuring and closing of project finance transactions. With over 16 years of experience in the power industry, including seven years in the renewables sector and holding various project and corporate finance leadership positions over a 15-year tenure at Edison Mission Energy. Prior to that, he served as a banking officer for Fuji Bank. Craig holds an M.B.A. from the U.C.L.A. Anderson School of Management and a B.A. from University of California, Berkeley.
Senior Director of Project Finance
Hao has been instrumental in executing the development, acquisition, financing, and divestiture of the company’s commercial and utility-scale solar energy projects in North America. Prior to his career in the solar industry, he worked for several investment banks and Fortune 500 companies in the fields of M&A advisory, corporate development, and corporate treasury management. Hao is a Chartered Financial Analyst and a graduate of the A.B. Freeman School of Business of Tulane University, with an MBA in Finance and Accounting.
Director of Procurement
Darrin leads the procurement and contracting function for EPC and Development within 174 Power Global. With over 12 years’ experience in procurement in the energy and construction industries, his broad experience supplements over 25 years of proven results in supply chain management in companies ranging from start-ups to Fortune 100. Prior to joining 174 Power Global, Darrin’s held manager roles for Public Service Company of New Mexico and Arizona Public Services, was Director for Stirling Energy Systems, Abengoa, and was assigned to numerous construction projects throughout the United States with NRG Renew ranging from distributed generation PV sites to combined cycle gas plants.
William M. Shore
Senior Director of Project Finance
Bill’s extensive experience in the development and financing of renewable and conventional energy projects makes him invaluable. Since joining 174 Global, he has closed more than 80 transactions valued at over $18 billion. His work includes the origination, structuring and negotiation of power purchase agreements; debt, equity, mezzanine, and tax equity financings; and acquisitions and sales of energy projects. Bill resume includes Managing Director, Project Development and Finance at Sunpin Solar, CFO for Fishermen’s Energy, and Managing Partner of Apogee Energy Advisors. He was a founding partner of Abatis Capital, a Deutsche Bank sponsored private equity fund, and was Managing Director and Head of Debt Capital Markets for AllCapital (US), the U.S. subsidiary of the ASX-listed private equity investment firm Allco Finance Group. He is a graduate of The Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania, where he received an MBA in Finance and a BS summa cum laude in Finance and Accounting.
Kenneth Kostok, P.E.
Director of Engineering and O&M
Ken leads the design and engineering for EPC and Development within 174 Power Global as well as the management of the PV Fleet under operation or EPC warranty. With a total of eight years of solar design, construction and operations experience in PV, CPV and CSP, this broad experience supplements over 30 years of proven results in the electric power industry at utilities, constructors and engineering companies. Ken’s career includes design, construction and operations of electric power transmission, substation and generation facilities with companies/projects such as SDG&E Sunrise Powerlink, 850MW SES Solar 1, Calico Solar, 750MW SES Solar 1, Imperial Valley Solar, Pirelli Cables and Systems.
